King Salmon

The West Coast of Prince of Wales Island near Craig Alaska is a stopover for almost every major king salmon run between Southeast Alaska to California.

Kings averaging 25 lbs are abundant while many trophies eclipsing 50 lbs are landed each season.

With so many different runs constantly passing through, our king salmon season lasts the whole summer.  You can expect excellent fishing from mid May to mid August .

We fish a salmon mooching technique which puts the rod in your hands so you feel every strike and set the hook on every fish yourself.  Once you try it, I think you will agree that there is no more exciting or rewarding way to fish salmon.  Combine this with top quality G. Loomis rods and Shimano Tekota linecounter reels and you just put the "sport" in sportfishing.

Silver Salmon are abundant from early July through early September.

They are super aggressive, hard fighters and excellent eating.  With silvers the action is often fast and furious.  You will fish for silvers the same way you fish for kings, so you are involved in the action from the first strike until your prize is boated.

Since the silver salmon and king salmon runs overlap and they feed on the same baitfish, you never know what you are going to catch.  Silvers will average 7-8 pounds in July and 10-12 pounds in August with fish in the 15-17 pound class landed each season.

Silver Salmon are wonderful fish that provide excellent sport, especially for kids and first time anglers.

"What a wonderful fishing trip! I can't tell you how much we appreciated your wonderful hospitality in everything from the food and accommodations to fish preparations.  Not to mention the fishing was second to none.  We have never caught salmon so big so fast."
